Android 12 volume rocker default

Belated upgrade to another phone running Android 12 and now when I'm casting from my Samsung note 10 plus to nest speaker I cannot change the volume with phone volume rocker. 

My old Note 9 running Android 10 worked fine.

• What Google Nest speaker do you have?

Before troubleshooting, ensure the following: 

• The Google Home app is updated. 
• The Google Nest speaker firmware is updated. Refer to this article for instructions: Google speaker and display firmware versions and release notes.

Please try these troubleshooting steps:

• If the app is up-to-date, uninstall the Google Home app, restart your phone, and reinstall the app.
• Try casting again and changing the volume with the volume rocker.

If these steps don't resolve the problem, you may need to perform a factory reset and set up the speaker again.
