Bought chromecast in Australia but trying to use it on nz. Local apps not available

I bought my chromecast in Australia but have returned to New Zealand. I would like to use the TVNZ app but it says it’s unavailable on my country? Also would like to remove Australian apps like channel 9, Stan etc. 

is there a way to tell the device it’s in nz now?

It is more likely that this is tied to your Google account and its Play Store region. Is that still configured for Australia?
