CCwGTV 4K update to Android 14 broke TV stream playback

My CCwGTV 4K received the latest update UTTC.241218.004, now I have Android 14.

This update broke playback of direct live TV stream in all the apps. It looks that all the h.264 FullHD streams are affected. The playback is like slow motion with judder and audio out of sync. All these apps worked perfectly fine before the update. Many users report the same (Reddit).

Source is DVB-C, TS stream from my cable TV provider.

Is this a known problem from Google's side? All the devices still on Android 12 are perfect.

Interesting. It has been understood here for several months that it is an ATV14 issue. From my own experience I have tested a GTV14 Streamer and a CCWGTV HD, both on ATV14, the latter having automatically updated to ATV14 from ATV12, and deinterlacing is not working at all. Would it be possible for you to test on Tivimate? A lot of us use Tivimate as the client app for our HDHomerun/Tuner card-TVHeadend setups. Is your TVHeadend server receiving interlaced DVB-T2, 1080i25?

In Australia 1920×1080 or 1440×1080 in an interlaced format it running at 50 fields per second.
Had a quick look at TiviMate after downloading it to the Mi stick. Couldn't connect to my TvHeadend server.  Gave up.

I have verified with Xiaomi TV Box Gen3 device (Android 14 and the latest security patch installed) that Kodi + Tvheadend is working 100% fine. The very same setup on Google Chromecast with Android TV 4K is broken: the video and audio is out-of-sync and the video is stuttering so much that it's completely unwatchable (it was working on Android 12, but not on Android 14 anymore). So my assumption is that it's not specifically Andoird 14 related issue, but Google Chromecast issue instead.

It is now 12 months since this was raised with Google. Just buy an ATV12 box and turn off automatic updates.

And how can I deactivate this on the Thomson Streaming Box Plus 270

I still have Android 12 on the box and I really want to keep it that way

Interlaced videos are working fine for me on GTV Streamer with GTV14 and a Philips TV with GTV14 but not working on CCwGTV with GTV14 ... seems like it is device specific .. 😞

Could be, but if they fail to fix this and transparently communicate, I will not buy any Google hardware anymore.

So some ATV14 devices are deinterlacing fine? It might be useful if we can build up a list.

ATV14 devices reported as working:

- Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd gen) (@K70 mentioned minor audio sync issue but it was also evident on CCWGTV ATV12)

- Xiaomi TV Stick 4k (2nd gen) (@Kostaman)

- Google TV Streamer 4k (I was not aware that this was fixed, @Pierreh says yes!)

- Philips TV (@Pierreh model?)

Any others?
