Can not connect to Chromecast since recently

Hi. In my team we are maintaining JavaScript application for Chromecast. Since recently (about 2 weeks) we can not connect to Chromecast neither using Android phone, nor IPhone. We tried several Chromecast devices, but did not succeed. In the first seconds it seems like the casting is starting, but then we just see the infinite loader on the phone without any error.

Did anyone experience the same issue recently? Do you know about any recent major updates done for Chromecast that could cause such issue?

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Nest Community team! I'm sorry to hear about the inconvenience you’re facing while trying to cast JavaScript using your Chromecast devices as you did before. I'll do my best to find a solution for you.

To better understand the situation, please help me by answering the following questions:

  1. How many Chromecast devices do you have?
  2. What are the Chromecast models you have?
  3. What is the led light status on your Chromecast devices?
  4. Is JavaScript the only application with the inconvenience?
  5. Do you see any error messages? If so, what is the message about? 

Additionally, I will share some troubleshooting steps; please give them a try:

  • Depending on the model of your Chromecast, you can perform a soft reset (reboot) on your device.
  • If you have the Chromecast with Google TV, you can try clearing the cache through the Chromecast device or even uninstalling the JavaScript app.
  • If by doing the previous step the inconvenience still exists, the next step is to do a factory reset on your Chromecast device.
