I've got a Chromecast with Google tv for a couple of years now. Never had problems untill the buttons on my remote stopped working (the TV buttons still functioned, but the Controlls to navigate the screen didn't).
I bought a new remote (twice), was able to connect them to the Chromecast with Bluetooth, but they had the exact same problem. I've used the remote on my Android ever since.
Now I've moved and installed my internet. I've given it the same name and password as before, so I wouldn't have to configure my Chromecast. But I'm not able to connect anymore. Not with Android remote, not by casting from apps like Netflix.
I've reset my Chromecast (couple of times now) but can't connect my android via bluetooth. I get the connect code on my android, but accepting doesn't work. The Chromecast stays on het "check code to connect" schreen with 2 buttons, connect and cancel. But since I don't have a remote, I can't confirm on my tv. I do not have a smart tv, but also checked on another, also not smart, tv.
After a while, the Chromecast starts up again like nothing happened, seemingly with wifi on my personal home screen. Even though I changed my wifi name and turned off all hotspots.
In my home app, I tried to remove the Chromecast, only resulting in removing the device from my home app.
The home app can't find the Chromecast when I try to connect a new device.
I've checked UPnP on my router, which is on. But it doesn't work with my hotspot setup anymore either, which I used last couple of days.
Please help me get the reset work and get connected with my chromecast
