Cannot Cast Oculus Quest 2 to Chromecast

Hey all, I can’t seem to cast from either my Oculus Quest 2 or my iOS Oculus App to my 3rd Gen Chromecast.

This used to work some time ago but seems to have stopped at some point since last use.

Both items are on the same network. Have power cycled both the Quest 2 and the Chromecast, have reinstalled the Chromecast fresh and I have power cycledy router.

i can cast from the Quest 2 to the app on my iPhone without issue and I can cast other apps (YouTube, Netflix) to the Chromecast from my iPhone without issue.

 

I have been through the Google troubleshooting guide and it has not helped.

Any advice would be appreciated, thank you.

Hi maximumice,

 

Thanks for reaching out. Please try to plug in the Chromecast to a different HDMI port on your TV and make sure the Oculus Quest 2 software is updated. You can also check the additional steps below:

 

  1. Move the router close to the Oculus.
  2. Disconnect other devices on the router.
  3. Reboot your mobile phone.
  4. Cast to a different device.
  5. Turn on Bluetooth and Location on the device you’re trying to cast to.
  6. Reset your Chromecast again.
  7. Reset your Oculus device (You can reach out to Oculus to need help about this).

Sorry for the delay, that kind of week.

Steps 1-6 have not helped. I will need time to figure out Step 7 to not disrupt my kids’ gaming.

Let's go ahead and close this, I still do not have it working but I need time to reset my Oculus (if that even fixes it). We just won't cast to Chromecast.
