Cannot reset Google TV voice remote

I have inserted new batteries and the LED blinks. I cannot reconnect to the Chromecast device therefore I tried the factory reset option for the remote (hold mute and center select button). I held for more than 20 seconds and no flashing LED.

I understand that after changing the batteries on your Chromecast voice remote, it can't reconnect, even though you already tried a factory reset and are not seeing a flashing light. I appreciate the information you've shared and your troubleshooting efforts. Don't worry; I'd be more than glad to see what's going on with your device. To better assist you, I have a few questions for you:

  • How long was the remote functional before it stopped working?
  • Are there any error messages from the streaming device when this issue occurred? If so, can you please take a picture?
  • Are the new batteries you inserted a fresh pair of 1.5-volt AAA batteries?
  • Since you saw the LED blink when you inserted the batteries, can you please refer to the LED states on Chromecast and Google TV Streamer voice remote, and tell me the status and pattern of the lights?

Any additional details you can provide will be helpful.
