Cast button missing in Chrome mobile (Android)

Hex guys,

recently I started missing the cast icon / button in my chrome mobile when there is a video playing. It always showed up until about maybe 2/3 weeks ago or so. Now I tried everything but can't make it appear. YouTube and other apps do show the cast button and do show my Chromecast devices. I do not want to mirror my whole phone to my tv, just the video playing in one of the tabs. I loved that functionality and really miss it. Hope someone can help me.

I understand it could be frustrating that this is happening. It's unusual for the cast button to disappear, but let's try the following steps to sort it out.

• Update the Chrome app to rule out any functionality that might've been affected by an update.
• Make sure the site you're trying to cast from allows casting.

As a last resort, you can try reinstalling Chrome. Doing so will erase any browsing data or saved settings that might have caused the Chrome button to disappear, so make sure to back up anything important before proceeding.
