Cast chrome tabbed video via iPhone

Got my Father in law a chromecast to use on his TV. All good apart from if he has a chrome tab open with a video playing there is no option to cast it. However if I'm on the same page and video I have the icon to just press and it's on the TV screen casting in seconds.

I'm sorry, the mobile version of Chrome doesn't support casting of tabs.  That is only supported on the desktop versions of Chrome.

On Apple phones and tablets, you can only use cast-enabled apps (there are 10s of thousands of them).

What device are you using when you get the option?  You'll see "cast a tab" on a computer and you'll get the option to mirror your screen on an Android phone or tablet.  Apple declined to support mirroring on their phones or tablets.
