Cast video to Chromecast Ultra but the audio to Chromecast Audio puck

I have the Chromecast Ultra 4K, and the Chromecast Audio puck.

I would like to be able to split the audio from what ever I am 'casting' from Youtube TV, Chrome, Qobuz, Netflix etc, from the video: send the video to the TV with Chromecast Ultra attached, and the audio to the Chromecast Audio.
I've tried making 'Speaker Groups" with the Ultra and Audio in it, with the "audio" setting on the Ultra being the 'speaker group' and have the following happen:

1) If I 'cast' to that 'speaker group,  it tells the TV with Ultra what it is playing thru the Audio puck: no actual video.  Just shows in the bottom corner of the "Ambient screen" display what is playing thru the Audio puck.

2) If I 'cast' to the Ultra with the speaker group selected under the 'audio setting', it sends video only.

The idea is to be able to features that one has but the other does not:

1) Chromecast Audio puck has an equalizer, and it is capable of receiving 24bit/96khz audio.

2) Chromecast Ultra obviously can cast highest video quality, but it's audio streaming is 24/48 maybe at best.

3) When I cast from Qobuz or Amazon Music I would like to see on the full screen what is playing and song info, but cast the higher resolution audio to the higher resolution Chromecast Audio puck.

So is this possible at all?!   It would be great honestly if they would have the Ultra be able to cast and receive 24/96K!

THANKS!

No, I am sorry, that is not possible at all.

When you are casting video content you can only send it to ONE Chromecast device at a time.  You can't multi-cast and you can't split the audio and video.

Only Audio-only content can be sent to a speaker group.

Man. that's a massive bummer.  It would be really cool if they had that provision to cast to two devices.

I wish Google would provide some tone controls for their video cast devices; just the same simple one from Chromecast Audio.

I also wish they could up the audio to 24/96!!

The Chromecast Ultra casts it's audio as 24/48khz at most, is that correct?

I am sorry, I don't know the audio specs for the Ultra.

I am not sure Google is adding features to the Ultra anymore (though they are doing bug fixes and security updates).  But, You can tell Google what you would like by using the "Send Feedback" option:

Google doesn't read every post in this forum but they do read and track all the feedback they receive that way. Just so you know, they won't respond directly to feedback so don't ask them any questions.
