Casting from tablet

I'm having problems when casting from a Samsung Galaxy Tab S7. Doesn't seem to matter what casting app or or version of Chromecast I use. Stops after playing after about 5 minutes of play.

I also have tried casting from a local file with my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra with the same problem.

Hey there Damo70au,

I'm sorry about the late response, I appreciate your patience! Are you still experiencing this issue where your casting stops after a few minutes? If so, I'd be happy to help you out, I'll just need to ask you some questions to understand what's happening:

  • When did the issue start?
    • How often does it occur?
  • Did the video buffer or pixelate before it stopped casting?
  • Does it occur when casting from an app and when casting from screen?
  • Is the video playing problem-free on the device, when not casting?

In any case, I would recommend re-booting the Chromecast, wireless router, and your casting device. Then, I would try clearing out the cache from your casting devices as well, here are the steps on an Android device:

  • On the phone or tablet, go to Settings  Device  Apps  All.
  • Scroll down and touch the app that has issues.
  • Tap Clear data, then tap OK.
  • Tap Clear cache.

Let me know if that resolves the issue or not. Also, if you had any more questions or concerns for me, please let me know!

Best regards,

Jeran
