Casting stops when casting screen with Google Home.

The title says it all. I'll be casting my screen and suddenly the image will freeze and I'll eventually get a message on the phone saying the casting has stopped. It's like the stream crashes. In order to start it again, I have to go back to the devices tab and reselect the chromecast tv. All in all, I can cast for about 20-30 minutes, before it finally crashes out.

To assist you further, please attempt the following questions:

  • Have you experienced any power outages in your area recently?
  • Are you using an Android or iPhone device to set up the Chromecast?
  • Has the Chromecast device worked fine before the issue started?
  • Is the Chromecast's power-saving mode turned on?
  • How far from the router is your Chromecast?
  • Is the Google Chromecast's firmware updated?
  • Is your mobile device's operating system (OS) updated?
  • Are you having the inconvenience with all the apps and TV services when you cast?
  • When did the problem start?
  • Does your Chromecast connect to a WiFi network operating at 2.4 or 5 GHz?
