Casting to a Firestick?

My TV doesn't  have Chromecast built in or no Chromecast exterior unit. I am able to Cast Youtube to my TV through my Firestick with no problems. When I attempt to do same with Chromecast I cannot. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

YouTube on the firestick is a cast enabled app.

Firesticks don't support Google Casting.

YouTube is different.  Your YouTube app on your phone is talking to the YouTube app on your Firestick.  That's why it's working and why it's ONLY working for YouTube.  It won't work for any other app on your phone.  That ability for YouTube to talk to itself is an old thing that came out before casting and is a neat trick, but it can be confusing.

If you want to do regular Casting, you have to have a Chromecast device.  Not a FireStick.

You should contact Amazon Support for further questions about your FireStick.
