Changed my wifi network and the Chromecast still remembers the old one (without the Google home app)

Hi there!

So my family recently reset our wifi network (new logins, so new name of the network and also the password).

In the meantime, we also changed our phones and we had to reset the whole Google home app with us losing all the credentials to it.

Which means we cannot access the Chromecast and change it to the new wifi network.

After a few attempts, I just reset it to factory settings, however it still remembers the old credentials to our wifi ( which we threw away). It does establish like 'new' chromecast network and name - cannot access it.

I did the whole thing with waiting on the right light, tried to press it for 30 seconds. Nothing helps. All it says: there are previous accounts that changed its settings. Reset it to the factory settings (which i did three times, just in case).

Is there a way to make it work?

Thank you for all your help!

It sounds like you've already found the physical reset button on the Chromecast itself? It's always on the edge of the Chromecast itself, near to the power input or on the back of the device if you have the new Google TV Streamer. Once you've found the reset button, the reset steps differ slightly depending on the model of Chromecast you have.
