Are you connecting Chromecast to a mains power outlet and not a USB port on your TV? Most TV USB ports simply don't provide enough power.

I have it plugged in with the provided transformer into a power outlet as I have with multiple units and have experienced the same studdering and on and off issues.

Is your TV enclosed or have limited clearance around it? Is it possible the device is overheating?

No I believe it has plenty of breathing room.
i tried to attach photo but couldn’t it’s got lots of room not touching anything

Where are you purchasing the devices from?
Are you using the original power cord and adapter that they came with?
03-14-2023 05:48 PM
Yes. I bought at target, all original equipment I tried moving the second one to another TV and it did exactly the same
Both units seem defective I have Samsung TVs and I’ve used Roku and Amazon fire stick with no issues only google unit malfunction and I don’t want to buy another and get same result but I have a big library of movies and I want to watch them. I use Xfinity the fast router and speed and not sure what to do next.

Hi folks,
Appreciate the help, davidking.
I know how it feels when something isn’t working as it should. A few questions: when the device turns off, is anything displayed on the screen? On a scale of 1 to 10 how warm is your Chromecast? Are you playing games or just watching/casting videos when it happens?
Give the steps below a try and let me know how it goes:

Juni

Hi Dan
I believe I’ve done all the troubleshooting I can both power and network. When I thought it was a one off anomaly I purchased another unit same result tried on two different tv units and two completely different Wi-Fi networks I’ve reset rebooted the units have plenty of breathing room my next question is … is there a fundamental flaw in the 4k design that lets them overheat and shut off and sometimes reboots. Both units do get very hot to the touch so have you run into this allot? I would go and buy another one but this would be my fourth and I’m not going to d that blindly. Tell me something I am not aware of and I’ll try it. I have not tried keeping the unit cold somehow artificially.
