Chrome cast disconnected

Hi

im having trouble getting my chrome cast to work. It says it’s connected on TV and it shows up on my google home page but when I click on the device it says device disconnected?

im wondering if it’s somehow connected to 5ghz wifi and not the 2.4ghz that everything else is?

Hi MS10,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. A few questions: what Chromecast device are you using? Is this the first time it has connected to this network? Do you see the Ambient mode (screensaver) on your TV screen? What steps have you taken?

It is possible that it may be on 5 GHz while the other devices are on 2.4 GHz; yet again, this depends on the type of Chromecast that you have.

Give the steps below a try and let me know how it goes:

  • Reboot your Chromecast and Wi-Fi router.
  • Reboot your phone.
  • Try a factory reset, then re-setup.

Thanks,

Kimy
