Chromecast 2nd white light is stable and On same network but still cast icon is not reflecting

Hi I have been using my chromecast for last 2 years but from yesterday it’s like I am not able to cast any thing because cast icon is not reflecting , chromecast reset button is not doing anything and white stable light is reflecting

Quick questions: Is the Cast button missing in one app or multiple apps? What is the make and model of the device used to cast?

 

Try these steps:

 

  1. Completely close the app(s) and then reopen.
  2. Make sure the affected app(s) is updated.
  3. Reinstall the affected app(s).
  4. Restart your router.
  5. Reboot your Chromecast.
  6. Forget the Wi-Fi network on your phone and reconnect.
  7. Try to cast from another mobile device to isolate if it's a device issue.
  8. Restart your mobile phone.
  9. Perform a factory reset for the Chromecast device.

Hi Jennifer,

1. I tried casting using Amazon prime box and that casting application like YouTube etc is working

2. my chromecast is only reflecting white solid light always ( even after pressing the reset button for 30-40 seconds the light did not change to any )

3. I tired factory reset but no diffence in the light ( solid white only)

Hi there,

 

Thanks for getting back to us. Have you tried the other suggested steps above? If yes, how was it? Also, please try to plug in the Chromecast into a different HDMI port on your TV. Plugging in your Chromecast in a different TV screen and do the factory reset there might also help.

Hi Jennifer , 

I have tried the above steps also , nothing is working .

My chromecast still shows a fixed white light with no casting icon on any app

can we connect or raise any ticket

Hi Panjrath93,

 

Yikes! Could you please try to disable and enable (toggle) automatic time zone setting and restart the mobile device? See the steps below:

 

For Android:

  1. Go to Settings > Date & Time > Automatic time zone.
  2. Disable, then re-enable the automatic time zone option.
  3. Restart the casting device (phone) to refresh the system.

For iOS:

  1. Go to Settings > General > Date & Time > Set Automatically.
  2. Disable, then re-enable the automatic time zone option.
  3. Restart the casting device (phone) to refresh the system.

If the issue persists, please fill out this form and let me know once you are done.
