Chromecast Audio not connected to new WiFi

Mv4

I live in Australia. I was supplied with a new NBN modem. So I now have new WiFi ID.

Attempted to update my Chromecast audio which is attached to my stereo.

It exists in Google Home but there is no connection . I cannot delete the device in Google Home. All lights are on. I just can't get it to work.

Sorry to be so vague. It used to work. Now it doesn't. I can't reset/reboot the device via Google Home

Hi Mv4,

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble reconnecting your Chromecast Audio after getting a new NBN modem and Wi-Fi ID. I understand how frustrating it can be when previously working devices encounter connection issues. I'm here to help you get it back up and running.

Since you mentioned you can't delete or control the Chromecast Audio through the Google Home app, we'll need to perform a factory reset directly on the Chromecast Audio device itself. This will clear its previous Wi-Fi settings and allow you to set it up again with your new network.

Here's how to factory reset your Chromecast Audio:

  1. Ensure your Chromecast Audio is plugged in and powered on.

  2. Locate the small button on the side of the Chromecast Audio device.

  3. Press and hold this button down.

  4. Keep holding the button. The LED light on your Chromecast Audio will begin to blink orange.

  5. Continue holding the button until the LED light changes to solid white.

  6. Once the light turns solid white, release the button. Your Chromecast Audio will now reboot and return to its factory default settings.

After the reset is complete, you should be able to set up your Chromecast Audio as a new device in the Google Home app. You can follow the steps outlined in this helpful article: Set up your Chromecast Audio.

Please let me know how the factory reset goes and if you encounter any issues while setting it up again in the Google Home app. I'll be here to assist you further.

Regards,

Kevin
