Hi @TerryP1963,

I'm sorry to hear your Chromecast has been crashing and rebooting every 15 minutes or so. That can definitely be disruptive! Let's see if we can get it working properly again.

Recent changes:

  • Can you recall anything that might have happened in the last 24 hours that could be related? Did you update any casting apps, like YouTube or Chrome? Did you move your Chromecast or router?

Power supply:

  • Let's double-check the power. Make sure you're using the original Chromecast power adapter, or one that outputs at least 1 amp. Plugging it directly into a TV USB port might not provide enough juice.

Software updates:

  • Outdated software can sometimes cause issues. Ensure you have the latest versions of the apps you use for casting (YouTube, Chrome, etc.). Additionally, check for Chromecast firmware updates in the Google Home app.

Wi-Fi strength:

  • A weak Wi-Fi signal can cause frequent dropouts and reboots. Try moving your Chromecast closer to your router, or vice versa. Also, check for any nearby devices that might be interfering with the signal, like cordless phones or microwaves.

Restarting devices:

  • Sometimes a simple restart can fix temporary glitches. Try rebooting both your Chromecast and your router.

Factory reset (as a last resort):

  • If none of the above solutions work, you may need to factory reset your Chromecast. This will erase all your settings and data, so be sure to back up anything important first.

If you've tried all of these steps and your Chromecast is still crashing, feel free to let me know.

Best,

Brandon.
