Chromecast Device Shutting Down after casting from Google Chromebox

SMASHCCAT

I have the newest Chromecast HDMI device (puck).  It recently started shutting off during  Google Slides cast to my tv.
I'm casting wirelessly at 2.4G from a Google Chromebox with the latest ChromeOS ver. 120.3.6099.203 64bit

Usualy within a few minutes it stops. I have done all that the Techs suggest, Reboot, Reattach to Home account, Update, etc.

It doesnt seem hot, maybe warm to the touch.

I have actually had two of these do this same thing.

Ive tried locking the IP into an Access Control List, didnt help (thought a student was messing around)

Hi SMASHCCAT,

Thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us. We’re sorry for the trouble, and this is not the experience that we wanted you to have. I just want to confirm the type of Chromecast device that you have connected to your TV. It is quite odd for it to reboot on its own while casting, especially if it’s not initiated by the user via Google Home App (for older Chromecasts) or via Chromecast Voice Remote (for Google TV versions). It may just be a coincidence and be related to the power source (cords, power strip, outlet, etc.), but since you have two of these, the probability is less. You didn’t mention that you performed a factory reset yet, which I strongly suggest. Try it on one device to see if it helps. Also, test if the same behavior happens when casting from different sources, such as smartphones and tablets. The objective is to know if both Chromecast devices have hardware issues or if it’s just the Chromebox itself that is causing this for some reason.

We look forward to your response.

Thanks,

Kimy
