While using Chromecast on our Sony Bravia VU31 TV we are able to cast and it is displayed on the screen for about 30sec-2min then disconnects. We have tried multiple computers and multiple TVs all seem to have the same issue.

It seems to be an issue with Casting in general. if you cast with tab it works but it seems if you cast screen is when it messes up. it seems to only be happening with PCs trying to screen cast

Hi I have tried several combinations and issue is with google chrome update, everything was working fine on my windows 11 laptop untill I intentionally updated it.
Here is a list :-
I have six tv's and all of them have same issue regardless of platform windows 10 or windows 11 yet some machines are working fine unless google chrome is not updated on them and as soon as you update google chrome, disconnections begin. Anyways it's a google chrome issue and they should soon be able to fix it ...

You can always try to roll back your chome to an older version and see if that fixes it

I was able to get it working rolling back to a previous update but then the browser auto updated itself and the issue is back of course

Just bumping this since I have the same issue. Tested with a browser on 131, casting worked fine. Updated it to 137 and the casting times out after about 10 seconds when casting the whole screen.

I am having the exact same issue, casting cuts out, only when casting screen and not tab. Any recommendations would be appreciated

Interesting, Just updated to 137, Casting full screen to Google Nest Hub does not cut out, will have to try on a chromecast.

Our school is having the same issue (multiple TVs all with inbuilt Chromecast).
Only when teachers attempt to cast their screen (casting a tab works fine and casting from anything OTHER than Chrome works fine). As with the other replies, it lasts roughly 12 - 16 seconds before it will just return to the TVs main screen.
I have checked, all Chrome versions are updated - so it clearly seems to be an issue with the latest update.

Hey Shaun ... just download an older version of google chrome and uninsall current version that is 137.x.x and install 136.x.x and it should work fine and may be some where next week google will roll out an update and things will be back to normal soon ... when you un install google chrome do select delete browsing history as without it you can't install older version and it might crash chrome from starting ... hope this helps

En la empresa estamos igual, probé un Windows 10 y funciona normal, pero en w11 el problema es total, cabe decir que la mayoría de equipos están en W11, por favor ayuda !

Fyi, Google Chromecast team is aware of this screen casting from Win 10/11 issue, fix should be in the upcoming browser update (next week sometime I think)

I just updated to the newest chrome version and casting no longer times out for me.

The fix is now in Chrome 137.0.7151.103, updating to that version should fix the screen casting issue for all on Windows 10/11 (was not an issue on other OS's).
