Hi Team,
Can you please provide preferred WiFi settings for optimal performance of the Gen3?
I've been having issues with live Kayo streams for a year or so now and don't have any issues with all the other streaming apps I use (e.g NetFlix, Stan, Paramount+, YouTube etc).
Using same source device (Samsung S21 Ultra), via same Chromecast and to same destination TV panel.
The latest (and most helpful) feedback I got from support is:
"As for the internet, I understand that you are on 25mbs however, these speeds advertised are advertised usually at a maximum and can suffer from a range of interference including other devices in the home, proximity to the router and the amount of other users in your area.
From our end I can see your Chromecast is reaching a maximum download rate of 6.7Mbps and occasionally dropping below this speed. Although 6.7mbps will technically give you a stream, it consistently drops below this which is causing the buffering.
I'm wondering if you are using Wi-Fi, if you are using a dual channel Wi-Fi. One that provides both a 5GHz band and a 2.4GHz band. If your Chromecast is reasonably close to the router, try switching to 5Ghz band. Reach out to your internet provider or your router manual., if you need assistance with that."
I disabled the 2.4 GHz and as soon as I did, the Chromecast disconnected and would not connect again until I activated it again

Just factory reset the device and disabled 2.4 GHz on the router.
Started setup and can see the 5Ghz WiFi SSID but cannot connect to it

Set the 5Ghz to low range channel (40) and is connecting now.
Will test Kayo Livestream and see how it goes ...

Hi Caperz,
Thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us. We’re sorry for the trouble, and this is not the experience that we wanted you to have. I’m glad that you finally sorted out the connection issue. Hopefully you won’t experience issues with the Kayo app, as we keep getting complaints about different issues with the app itself. Keep us posted.
Thanks,
Kimy
