So, I've hooked up a USB hub, and entered a usb drive and formatted it to be internal storage.
I can move apps to it no problem, and I do see it in the file manager I downloaded on to it, but then the file manager can't access it so I can't put any files on there. And in ADB the USB drive simply doesn't show up, all I have available is the 4GB's of internal storage.
And it's driving mad All I want is to play the goddamned Tekken 2 on my goddamned chromecast. And maybe Onimusha...
Tried Retroarch which was a pain to install, then deleted that and downloaded Lemuroid from the play store but that one said I have no app to access maps. So the workaround is supposed to be using adb, but in adb I don't see the extra internal storage.

Hi ChrisLe,
Thanks for reaching out to the Nest Community. We're happy to help you with your Google Chromecast questions.
I understand you're interested in expanding your Chromecast with Google TV's capabilities by installing external applications. However, I must inform you that the device has built-in security protocols that restrict app installations to those available through the Google Play Store.
These security measures are in place to protect your Chromecast and ensure its long-term functionality. Installing untested or unauthorized applications can pose several risks:
Potential Device Damage: External apps may contain malware or code that can damage the Chromecast's software or hardware.
Loss of Core Functionality: Incompatible apps can cause system instability, crashes, and loss of core features, such as video and audio playback.
Warranty Voidance: Installing unauthorized software can void your device's warranty, as it deviates from the intended use and can lead to hardware damage.
The Chromecast with Google TV is primarily designed as a secure and reliable video and music streaming device. Its purpose is to provide a seamless entertainment experience with apps that have been thoroughly tested and verified by Google. By adhering to these security protocols and using apps from the Google Play Store, you can ensure your Chromecast continues to function reliably for its intended purpose.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Regards,
Kevin

Hi,
See one of the emulators I bought, as in I paid money for it, on the google play store, on the chromecast directly. And it still doesn't work.
I found out the restrictions since android 12 are the issue for everyone, before this the chromecast was apparently considered a wonderful device for emulation. Wish I knew about the android 12 issues before buying a USB storage hub specifically for the Chromecast, and shelling out money for an app that won't work.
Would you happen to know if I can sideload an older version of Android and which one I should get and where to find it?
Or will I be better off selling the Chromecast and getting a fire stick which most people seem to advise online
Regards
Chris
