Hi there,
I am trying to connect my chromecast to my TV - I live in an apartment building with shared wifi across the building. I have contacted the internet service provider and they have asked for the MAC address so they can add it to the network.
I have clicked the 3 dots during setup and selected "show MAC address" an error message comes up and says "unable to get MAC address from device. Please look at the device itself." There is no MAC address on the device or packaging.
Help would be greatly appreciated

Chromecast doesn't support those kind of Wifi networks that require you to login first or register devices to be able to access the internet. Chromecast with Google TV uses something called MAC randomisation by default, and it's per Wifi network. You can't turn that feature off without first connecting to the Wifi network, which you won't be able to do if your internet service provider uses MAC filtering. There are a couple of possible solutions for this:
