Chromecast can't cast some media

I can't be the only one with this issue. And it has ALWAYS been an issue since I bought it 3-4 years ago .

It streams perfectly fine from the YouTube app and some other apps. But some apps and specially website media players (that does have the chromecast icon), it doesn't cast.

Only see a grayed background and a blue chromecast logo in the middle when I try.

 

Why is this happening? 

Yes, all is updatede. Yes, both phone and chromecast is on same network. Yes, router up to date (the newest Google router) No vpn.

  • Could you please confirm if you are having this inconvenience with a Chromecast with Google TV (4K) model?
  • Which devices are you using to cast your media to the Chromecast? (iPad, computer, laptop, mobile devices, etc.)
  • If you are using other devices to cast to the Chromecast, could you please let me know the make and model of those devices?
  • Are you having the inconvenience when you stream the apps and services available in the Google TV tabs?
  • Which country are you located in?
  • Have you tried to reboot your Chromecast device to resolve this inconvenience?
  • Is the Chromecast firmware updated?
