Hi.
I out of the blue lost connection to my Chromecast. It has been working for half a year up until today. Trying to fix it, I have reset to factory settings, bootet router and Google home. So I’m basically trying to set-up from scratch. Problem now is that google home can’t see the chromecast.
Wifi is working and other items in Google home is connected and working.
My guess is that chromecast fails to connect to wifi/bluetooth or whatever it needs to be properly installed
Any help appreciated

Hi RasmusB,
Thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us. We’re sorry for the trouble, and this is not the experience that we wanted you to have. Since you performed a factory reset on your Chromecast with Google TV device, it must be prompting you to set it up. It will start by pairing the remote and then choosing the language for the interface. Then it will prompt you to scan the QR code on the TV screen using the Google Home App (which would ask permission to use and launch the phone’s camera). If you can’t proceed from here, I suggest continuing using the remote to complete the setup. After it’s completed, the Google Home App will show the Chromecast device, and you can rename it and move it to a room that you prefer.
I hope this helps. Let us know if you still need help.
Thanks,
Kimy
