When mirroring my screen on Chromecast it now seems to timeout and go to the ambient screen after ~ 10 seconds of inactivity. This has only started happening in the last day or so. Anyone know why this might be happening or a fix?

Update: this seems to be related to the most recent Chrome update, and isn't just inactivity, but the timeout happens when not actively streaming video. I was scrolling on the screen I was streaming, looking for a new video and the casting deactivated.

Hi crouthammer,
Thanks for posting. I understand that your Chromecast device is going to the ambient screen after 10 seconds of inactivity. I'll be more than happy to help. I just need to ask for some information to provide the best assistance.
What is the Chromecast device that you have? You can check the "Chromecast and Google TV Streamer Specifications" article to find out.
What specific device and operating system version are you casting from?
Have you tried restarting the device you are casting from?
Have you tried clearing the cache and cookies in your Chrome browser or app and then attempting to mirror again?
Does this issue occur when mirroring any tab or screen, or is it specific to certain websites or apps?
Please keep me posted.
Best regards,
Jenny
