Chromecast missing when in phone/tablet mode in Chrome recently. IF I enable "Desktop" mode in Chrome the icon is available.
Why has it gone missing in phone/tablet mode?! It works in other apps like Pandora, Youtube, Google Home etc. But in Chrome is totally missing!
I have tried everything I can think of to get it working again!
-1) Reboot Phone
-2) Reboot Chromecast Device
-3) Uninstalled and Reinstalled Chrome on Android Phone
-4) Tried guest mode
Again it works in all other apps, but NOT Chrome when in Phone/Tablet mode!

You are right, the phone/tablet version of Chrome does not support casting.
Google suggests you use the dedicated apps for services instead of their webpage if possible.
If you want to cast a webpage on Android, you can use screen mirroring:

It did up to a few weeks ago?! Why did they remove it?
As screen sharing is lame as every other apps notifications will interrupt what you intend to cast...

Why was it removed?! Was a great feature to watch videos via Chrome....

Hey there payne51558,
I am sorry to say, but I am not sure why the functionality was removed, I know I'd be pretty disappointed as well if I was using a feature only for it to be quietly disabled. The only thing I can suggest is that you submit feedback via the Google Home app to let Google know that this is something you'd like to see return.
