Chromecast not connected to the wifi

Hi. my chromecast remote is dead and eversince i have been using the google home app as my remote. the problem is, when i was navigating i accidentally disconnected the chromecast from wifi and i can no longer control it to be connected again to the network. is there a work around here? does buying a replacement remote will fix the issue? thanks a lot.

To resolve you’ll need to factory reset using the physical button on the device and set it up again. Note that setup requires a remote, replacement remotes are available on the Google Store.
