Chromecast only casts from Android

Recently our Chromecast will only consistently cast from an android device. 

Up until yesterday morning we could cast fine from both our iPhone & android devices. Then in the afternoon yesterday I was unable to cast frommy iPhone. At first I could see the Chromecast, but kept getting an error when trying to cast, then it eventually disappeared from the casting options. 

I attempted to cast from multiple apps on my iPhone, from my daughters iPhone, and in the google home app I could see the tv, but it said I wasn’t on the same network (we only have one network - which  was definitely connected to). I was able to use out google home speaker to play something on the tv, and could see that playing through the google home app, but could not gain access to it at all. My husband was not home, so I couldn’t test casting from an android device. 

I wrote it off as a fluke, did a full factory reset and was able to connect to the Chromecast & successfully set it up again from my iPhone. 

This morning comes, and once again, I cannot connect from either of our iPhones, but it works perfectly fine from my husbands android phone. 

We moved house a few months ago, but have had no problems with the set up since. No settings have recently been changed - unless there was an automatic update on the Chromecast. I have not updated my iOS recently.

 

Any suggestions as to why the device would not be talking to our iPhones?
