Chromecast remote won't work

My remote won't work, I have tried everything.

try downloading the remote for Android TV from the Google Play.  Pair this to your Chrome For Google TV and then go to Google TV settings and download the remote upgrade.  That's how I fixed my Chrome for Google TV remote when it "froze" It now works great.
