I have Google home, an ten year old Samsung TV and an old dongle chromecast. I've been using my voice to control the tv for a few years and suddenly it started to respond to my voice commands, i.e., pause, fast forward, etc., it will announce what it's doing. This is super annoying and I can't figure out how to make it stop. I have no accessibility option in the settings of my old tv. This isn't a "Talkback" thing because both my tv and chromecast are too old. How do I turn off the audio response? Thanks in advance if anyone knows the solution.

Hey dutchputch,
Thanks for visiting the Community.
To confirm, are you using your Google Home in controlling your Chromecast? Where are you getting the response from? Also, to have a clear view on what's happening with your devices, could you send us a short video clip?
Best,
Alex

Hi, yes Im using google home and it's coming from the google home speaker. It's like when I tell it turn on the fan, it says "turning on the diningroom fan". Now when I say to fast forward five minutes, it says "fast forward livingroom tv". It never did that before with the tv. It would just quietly fast forward or pause.

Hey dutchputch,
Understood. While it may have worked before, we can't lessen the response from Google Home or Google Nest speakers and displays. We're always looking for ways to improve and we appreciate your feedback.
I also suggest that you send feedback using your devices by saying, "Hey Google, send feedback," or by following the steps on this link. Let me know if I can assist with anything else, otherwise I’ll be locking this thread after 24 hours.
Thanks,
Alex
