Hi Abdulraheem009,

I’m sorry to hear about the trouble you’re experiencing with your Chromecast 3rd gen device’s connection to the WiFi. Let’s further look into it. A few questions: are you using a private or a shared WiFi connection? If private, is your router dual-band? On which band is Chromecast 3rd gen connected? Are there other Chromecast/Google Home devices connected to the same WiFi network? Are they working fine?

I’ll look forward to your response.

Regards,
Alex

Hi,

I have a lrivate connection and all other devices are connected to same wifi/modem wothout any connection issues. Yes, modem is dual band.

Hello there,

Thanks for the information you shared. When you said other devices, are you referring to a different Chromecast device? Since your modem is dual-band, try to factory reset your Chromecast 3rd gen device and connect it to the other band. Let me know how it goes.

Kind regards,
Alex

Other devices as in phone and ipad which are connected to same wifi. I have tried factory reset multiple times but it's the same problem again and again.

Hi folks,

Appreciate your help here, @Alex_S.

@Abdulraheem009, thanks for trying the steps. A few things that I need to clarify: is your TV showing the ambient mode (screensaver), even if it’s showing as not available on the Google Home App? If yes, does it come and go (the ambient mode)?

@ceeya, thanks for posting. Is this happening during setup? Or is this already set up, but you occasionally encounter this message? Is the message showing on the TV screen or on the Google Home App?

There are a lot of factors for network-related issues (interference, distance, obstructions, etc.) like this. We can isolate if it really is a network issue by disconnecting your Chromecast device from your WiFi and testing it on another network. A mobile hotspot is an alternative if there’s no other network available. It’s easier to break it down from there once it’s identified.

We look forward to your responses.

Thanks,

Kimy
