Chromecast won't factory reset, shows "network problem" after factory reseting

My Chromecast 3 is currently stuck on a "network problem" screen and it's displaying the message in German rather than English.

I've attempted to perform a factory reset several times, and I've also experimented with booting it without a Wifi connection (router turned off), but it returns to the same screen.

I'm unable to detect the Chromecast Wi-Fi network at any point during boot. It simply doesn't appear as an available network.

Try these steps:

 

  • Plug your Chromecast 3rd gen device into another HDMI port or TV.
  • Factory reset it once more.
  • Restart your router and phone.
  • Force close and reopen the Google Home app, then try to do the setup again.

Hi!

I have the exact same problem. My Chromecast is stuck in a setup where no mater what I do, it keeps rebooting to a screen with a german error message "Netzwerkproblem". I cannot find its wifi either and I already tried resetting it several times without success (it looks like it is reseting but I never reach the setup screen, only the network error)
