Came back from holiday and for some reason my iPhone 12 can’t find my chromecast?
Nest is connected, chromecast is connected to the TV but when I try and cast from YouTube on my iPhone or TV cast it can’t find it and only gives me an option to link to my tv with a code which works but is long winded each time I want to watch YouTube on my TV.
Any ideas?

Hi BALDYMONSTER,
Thanks for reaching out to the community! I understand that since you returned from your holiday, your iPhone 12 hasn't been able to find your Chromecast, forcing you to use a manual code to connect each time. I'm glad to help you with this.
Let's try a few simple steps first, as they often resolve most issues.
Please restart the following devices in this order:
Once everything is back on and connected, please check if your phone can find the Chromecast.
If the simple restart doesn't solve the problem, could you please provide some additional details so I can better assist you?
Let me know if the restart helped or if we need to continue troubleshooting with the answers to these questions. I'm ready to assist you further.
Regards,
Humberto

Thank you, I've done that but still the same issue I'm afraid.
My iPhone 12 is connected to the same network as the chromecast.
The light on my chromecast is a solid white light.
I can connect and cast from laptop with no issues and my google nest is working fine also.
I can see the cast icon when I use the YouTube app.
My iPhone just cannot find the chromecast for some reason, very strange and frustrating.

Hi BALDYMONSTER,
Thank you for confirming that you’ve troubleshooted with the suggested steps. It's very helpful to know that you've already tried restarting your devices and that your laptop can cast without any issues. This tells us the problem is likely specific to your iPhone's connection to your home network, rather than with the Chromecast or your Wi-Fi router.
Since we've ruled out the most common causes, let's try a few more troubleshooting steps with a different mobile device (Android or iPhone), In order to know if you should contact your phone provider.
If that step resolves the issue, please let me know.
Regards,
Humberto

Thanks, so I’ve tried my other iPhone 6 and I can cast YouTube from that but still not my iPhone 12.
It must be some sort of setting in my iPhone 12?

Hi BALDYMONSTER,
Thank you for the update. It's a good idea to check the settings on both devices to identify any discrepancies. I'm happy to assist you further once you've done that.

Humberto

Thank you, what settings should I check?

Hi BALDYMONSTER,
Thank you for your question. It sounds like a setting on your iPhone 12 is preventing it from seeing the Chromecast. Since your other iPhone works, let's focus on that. I suggest contacting an iPhone technician in order to determine the issue’s root.
Any update, or additional questions, I'll be happy to assist you.

Humberto
