Disconnect every time

My chromecast has worked for years. Tv is in the same spot-same phone I have always used. Internet equipment is in the same spot be we upgraded last week for faster internet. We have to factory reset the chrome cast EVERYTIME we use it and sometimes during our viewing. My phone can find the chromecast it says “something went wrong” when we get to the final stage of connection.  Then we have to reset again. After 3x it’ll finally connect-but then anytime we shut it off we start the whole process again

I know this is not an answer.
But check the channel width of your wireless network.
I personally had major issues with Chromecast on a wireless network with a channel width of 80Mhz.
Dropping it down to 20Mhz resolved my issues.
Upping it back up to 40Mhz seems to still be mostly working.

In  my case it was rebooting every day at roughly the same time.
Never got an answer to why but it might be worth the shot.
