Fiancé cannot connect to Chromecast with google home

Hello, 

My fiancé is added to my google home as a family member for the Chromecast. However, he is unable to cast anything on YouTube or any other streaming platform. His phone cannot find the Chromecast even though he has already on the google home.

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. In order to cast to a Chromecast device, the casting source (smartphone, tablet, laptop, etc.) should be on the same Wi-Fi network as the Chromecast device. The Wi-Fi network should be a secured, non-complex private network or a simple home Wi-Fi network. Just open an app like Netflix or YouTube and look for the cast icon. Your fiancé’s phone should be able to cast as long as it’s connected to your home Wi-Fi. Let us know how it goes.
