Goes through the set up fine but then comes up on the app "could not communicate with chromecast"

I've tried un plugging it and restarting, tried to connect to wifi, tried to connect to wifi using our extenders. It use to work fine until we changed internet provider. The lounge TV works fine bedroom one just will not connect.

Thanks for posting in the Chromecast Help Forum. 
 
If you are attempting to connect through a Wi-Fi extender, please check your extender settings. You will need to disable AP isolation on your Wi-Fi extender before setting up Chromecast to work with your Wi-Fi network.
 
Or does your location have a captive portal (campground, apartments, dorm, hotel, etc) that requires a login? When the captive portal settings are enabled, these settings can prevent your Chromecast device from properly connecting to your mobile device or computer. -- See What router settings do I need to set up Chromecast?
