My Chromecast Audio devices now appear to have been patched and are working as they used to. However they come up as local devices and the invites to join my home group apparently go nowhere.
I have read the fix is to factory reset and (re)align them with my google account in order to align them under the same home group.
My concern is we were told not to factory reset anything in the face of the recent Chromecast failure (as it would brick the devices). So is it safe to now try a factory reset on Chromecast Audio devices? Or will that create unintended consequences because they are "no longer supported"?
