I am also having the same issue. I cannot cast my screen. Additionally, if I try to cast a single tab, it shows a still image of the tab and it doesn't update when I navigate through the tab.

Hi ひろみ,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that you need to cast your screen from your MacBook; I am happy to assist you! Let's troubleshoot this together. Here are some steps you can try:

Check Chromecast and Network:

  • Restart: Restart both your Mac and the Chromecast device.

  • Network Connection: Ensure both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network and that the Wi-Fi signal is strong.

  • Factory Reset (if necessary): If the issue persists, try factory resetting your Chromecast device. This often resolves connectivity problems. Instructions are usually found in the Chromecast app or in the Chromecast device documentation.

    • Note: Factory resetting will remove all your current settings and cast sources.

  • Re-add Chromecast: After resetting, re-add your Chromecast device to your Wi-Fi network and the Google Home app.

Let me know if this helps!

Regards,

Manuel

I had performed the Chromecast and Mac restarts and the Chromecast factory reset before posting here. It seems there is a bug between Chromecast and MacOS Sequoia, but for some reason I did not start experiencing the issue until Chrome update 132. You can follow any updates about this bug on this thread: https://issues.chromium.org/issues/374131711

Luckily we had some extra Apple TVs laying around in my office, so I just replaced the Chromecast with that in my conference rooms. We are using a PC laptop to cast to Chromecast if we have to do multiple screens once. That's really the only workaround I've found for now.
