Google TV Streamer - Remote control custom button configuration cannot be changed

I have a bug with my fully updated Google TV Streamer and remote (firmware 1.0):

It is impossible to change the custom remote control button in Settings once an app has been assigned to it.

Actual result is that nothing happens when i press the menu item for custom button. Is it a common issue?

Can you change the app in the actual settings screen or edit it by long pressing?  Set up the Google TV Streamer Voice Remote customizable button - Streaming Help 

You can try resetting the remote or try more troubleshooting steps: Troubleshoot the Chromecast or Google TV Voice Remote - Streaming Help 

Additionally, you can reset the Streamer. How to factory reset your Chromecast or Google TV Streamer - Android - Streaming Help 

If none of that helps can you post back your region and the app's name you are having trouble with?

Hi, I tried changing the button action in Settings > Remotes & Accessories > Set up remote buttons > Customizable button as well as long pressing the remote button on the home screen. In both instances, the screens blinks once sometimes, as if a window tried to open, but failed. 

I have also tried disconnecting and reconnecting the remote. 

I have no plan to factory reset the device to get this working, as I think it is likely pointless. Looks like a software bug that needs to be fixed with a software update somewhere.

Hey there, I'm having the same issue, but the custom button used to work quite well when I first got the Streamer.

I also had a different issue with the voice search not working, so I had to restart quite often to get it to work but that would only last a day or so.  I decided to factory reset and now have issues with BOTH voice search & not being able to map the custom button to open Home Panel which was the #1 reason for upgrading to the Streamer!  Very frustrating, but wanted to let you know that there's another thread supposedly addressing the button mapping issue:  https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Streaming/Google-Streamer-custom-button-will-not-work-with-Go...

Apparently, Google is aware and working on a fix, albeit as a snail's pace, but the work around is to long press the home button to access Home in the sidebar.  Hope this helps!

Thanks for letting me know that there is already a thread about this issue! Based on the latest comments in that thread, there is a fix that is included in an update that is being rolled out in stages.
