Google home app cannot see my chromecast

I have a 2022 chromecast with google tv and an LG tv. Also an iPhone 16.

recently my google home app has stopped being able to see my chromecast and I do not get the cast icon on Kanopy on my iPhone. 

But I can still stream perfectly well from my HBO app to my computer, regardless. After going through an exhaustive troubleshooting list, making sure all software is up to date, making sure tv and chromecast are on the same WiFi network, restarting the tv and phone and app and unplugging everything and plugging it back in, I do a factory reset of the chromecast. This fixes the issue until a few days later when once again Kanopy stops offering me the cast icon and my google home app cannot see chromecast. But hbo can still stream on chromecast from my phone!

i do a factory reset again. It fixes it again. For a few days. 

what is going on?
