HELP NEEDED PLAYING TV APPS

Hi everyone,

I've just set up my GOOGLE TV Streamer.

I have several Apps that are pre-installed on the device which include Netflix, YouTube, etc. I have no problems accessing the content of those Apps.

I also have Apps for local TV broadcasters on the device. These Apps have a download insignia on them.  I've clicked on these Apps and the device indicates it is downoading the App. However, every time I click on the App expecting to see whats on, it downloads the App again. I must have dowloaded these TV Apps more than 10 times now expecting that I'll be taken to that TV stream.

I cant find a screen on my device where I can actually click on the TV channel stream associated with the particular App to view the content of that site.

Can anyone help me with this please?

Hi kennm,

Thank you for reaching out to our community.

I understand that you recently set up your Google TV Streamer (4K) and can easily access content from pre-installed apps like Netflix and YouTube. However, you are encountering an issue with apps for local TV broadcasters. These apps appear with a download insignia, and when you click on them, the device indicates that it is downloading the app, but it initiates the download process again instead of allowing you to view the content. I appreciate your troubleshooting efforts and the detailed experience you have provided. But don't worry, I'm happy to look into this for you.

Please answer the following questions to help me figure this out:

  • Could you let me know which specific TV broadcaster apps you are trying to install?
  • Did you try using other similar apps and encounter the same issue?
  • Are these apps visible/listed under "Settings" > "Apps"?
  • What’s the firmware version of your Google TV Streamer (4K)? You can use this Google Help Center article as a reference: Find your device’s firmware version.
  • What country are you located in?
  • Are you using the device in the same country where you bought it?

Please reply with the requested information so we can continue troubleshooting and find a solution.

Best regards,

Virna
