I recently downloaded the History channel app on my iOS device and want to cast it to my 3rd gen Chromecast. I have streamed about 10 episodes casting from the app to my Chromecast and 3-4 times during those 10 episodes, the media will stop playing, like it is buffering, but then the entire screen goes black then it says Chromecast at the bottom of the screen and then the Chromecast shuts off and my tv then immediately goes to the screen saver. I got sick of dealing with it so I started using my laptop and the Chrome web browser to cast. This worked for about 2.5 episodes and then the same thing happened, my Chromecast randomly rebooted in the middle of an episode. My iOS is up to date as is the app via the App Store and my Chrome web browser is also up to date. I have not had this issue happen before, and I don't have any issues when casting using different apps like Direct TV Stream and YouTube. History channel support said that they are not experiencing any outages or issues with Chromecast.

Hi RobB83,
Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. If all other apps are working except for this, then your Chromecast device is working as intended. If it’s not the app itself, it could be network-related (server, host, etc.).
Give the steps below a try and let me know how it goes:
Thanks,
Kimy
