iPad and chrome cast something went wrong

I have a Chromecast and iPad trying to connect to stream to tv

it connects to wifi and then I get the something went wrong message

its along the lines of privacy settings on iPad enable them 

they’re enabled

ive toggled on an off

restarted the Chromecast, CloudMesh and IPad, updated to latest IOS on iPad but cannot get it to connect 

why ???  
tryibg to do this for my

mum, she has an old Smart Tv, and it doesn’t seem to have a Netflix (another issue) so trying to use chromecast

cant use her iPhone as it’s a 6(?) and is too old

help!

Hi folks,

 

I appreciate your help here, @David_K.

 

@Ihaveaheadache, the "Something went wrong" message is pertaining to the communication failure between the setup device and the device being setup. Try another setup device, it would just be used for that purpose. Once it’s fully setup, the iPad can be used for casting from here. Just make sure that the iPad and the Chromecast device are on the same Wi-Fi. Let me know how it goes.
