How to set chrome cast to turn on at a set time

I’m hoping to set up the chrome cast to turn on and start playing something at a set time in the morning to help me wake up. 
Currently my partner wakes up, puts the tv on to help me wake up then goes back to sleep as they work nights!

Please tell me there is a way to automate this process?!

I tried setting up a routine but it will only let me link to a Google speaker, and the speaker won’t turn on the chrome cast - am I missing something or is there another way?

I appreciate your efforts to find a solution. Unfortunately, setting a timer to start playing content directly on the TV isn't currently supported on all Chromecast models. However, if you have a Nest Hub, you can try creating a speaker group that includes the Chromecast. This might allow you to play content at specific times through the Nest Hub display.
