Issues with Chromecast volume and dropping out

I have 3 issues that need sorting -

 

First, every time I cast something now, the volume drops, then if I use the search bar or rewind 30 seconds on the media playing, it goes back to normal volume. The volume on the device and TV hasn't changed and doesn't change, it just goes quiet.

 

Second is that it keeps failing in the middle of a cast. It just stops. The WiFi connection hasn't failed and the device casting from is fine. It's just started doing this and is very frustrating. I can't reset or anything from the Home app, it's just frozen.

 

Third is that trying to cast from chrome browser on my windows laptop doesn't work now, it will only let me screen mirror. This only happens when casting files from my hard drive. Casting from websites is fine.

 

These issues (apart from chrome browser issue) are happening on my laptop and Android applications

 

I have tried to reset and factory reset cast device, but doesn't work.

 

Please help?

I apologize about the late response, thank you for your patience! Were you able to fix these issues? If not, I'd be happy to help out, let me just ask you some questions about what is happening:

  • When did these issues start happening?
  • When the Chromecast fails, what color is the LED light on the device?
  • What version of the Google Home app are you using?
  • What version of Google Chrome are you using?
  • What is the firmware version of the Chromecast?
