Windows 11 laptop isn't detecting my chromecast. Tried all the steps provided in the help section but it didn't work. Also, there isn't some additional help provided for windows 11 laptops.

I assume you want to cast from Windows 11 Chrome browser to the Chromecast device.
Explain, please, what troubleshooting steps you performed.

I have the same issue. I have what I think by looks is a Chromecast 3Gen, but model number is NC2-6A5 which is 2Gen. All plugged in, but it wants to be connected to a Google Home app on a mobile/tablet. I can't get the latest software on either phone nor tablet. But I want to cast from my hp laptop. On my laptop I press Cast, but it can't detect any devices.
Any help would be gratefully received

You have to use a phone or tablet to setup the Chromecast device, before you start to use it with a pc.
After you finish setup, you must ensure that your pc is connected to the same WiFi network bandwidth as the Chromecast device.
In some cases, where radio interferences may occur, you may have to acces your router and select another channel for the WiFi.
