Led blinking orange and white and chromecast is not working

Since I guess the last update, my chromecast has been not working. It’s blinking orange and white and has been doing that for days. I looked it up and it seems to be because it’s stuck in an update loop and I’ve tried everything, from unplugging and plugging it again to try and factory reset it and it doesn’t work, I can’t even factory reset it (I’ve even tried the alternative factory reset)

Thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear about the situation that you are experiencing with your Chromecast device which is stuck and is just blinking orange and white. But don't worry; help is here. In this case, I just need to ask for some information to provide the best solution:

  • What is the Chromecast device that you have?
  • Is the LED light alternating pulsing white and orange?
  • Can you see the device on the Google Home app?
  • How did you try to process the factory reset?

Chromecast Gen3

It was for a few days, but it just turned solid orange, it’s not blinking anymore.

I can see it, but it’s disconnected and can’t do anything with it.

Just by pressing the button on the chromecast and waiting 20s. But it didn’t work.

Well, it’s been a week since I filled the form and I still haven’t been reached out yet. 

i refilled the form after 2 weeks without any notice. I hope i get an email or something pretty soon.

I just visited a page of new posts. A slew of people are reporting Chromecast failing to connect, me included. Looks like a Google problem.
