I’ve restarted my whole chromecast, updated my phone, updated my apps, made sure my local network access is on, and I still receive this message:
Bedroom tv may be set up, but we could not communicate with it from your iPhone. Make sure that you have enabled local network access in your privacy settings and try again.
im at a college campus and registered my device to get wifi and it will connect to wifi from the Google home app but I get the message above.

Hi @Jake3
Do you know if it works for others on campus, is this a shared internet connection / WiFi?
Maybe this functionality is blocked by the owner of the WiFi?
Another issue could be caused by Apple iCloud Private Relay, please try disabling that and see if that helps.

I don’t know if it works for others on campus but it is a shared WiFi. I checked and I do not have the iCloud private relay enabled

Hi folks,
@Jeran and RXShorty, thanks for the help.
@Jake3, thanks for posting. Schools often have a restricted network configuration that can cause issues with Chromecast setup. You need to coordinate with your campus IT and let them know that you want to connect your Chromecast to their network so they can grant access.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Juni
